Nice to see you to see you nice

We hope to be able to show people where we are and how we're getting there. Use the map to see if you can locate us. Say hello, or laugh at our pitifully slow progress. The choice, as ever, is yours

Outback Bound

Listen, we're running a little late in updating the website. We've very little time to spare to do it and little internet access, but we've come down now from Cairns, via Deeral and Townsville, and are making it over west, into the Outback along the Flinders Highway, where we are stopped for a few days on a Cattle Station near Cloncurry. The temperature is rising, it's getting hot, and we're getting to the business end of the trip.
You don't want to be left high and dry in the Outback. Having said that, it's an awe-inspiring vista - immense and magnificent, empty and dry, there's so much open space it's 'mind bogcling', to quote Frankie Dettori, who was speaking on an unrelated topic. Hot and a long way between stops. We better have a clue eh.
Outback Australia - doesn't get better than this!

Take on me, take me on! Aha!

Take a look at the Map. Our new interactive friend.
We are in Magnetic Island right now, just off Townsville, on the east coast.
The stories we have, they are tales of joy and triumph. No woe thus far.
The journey is taking on a life of it's own and a prolific set of coincidence and happenstance just keeping on occuring.
We will try within the next few days to tell these stories, and more.
Bear with us.
We just can't help it.

Stuck In The Muds Only Got Any Waters

We've made it to Rockhampton. Tell a lie, Yeppoon actually, but not far from. After a little over a week from the start, that saw us move a paltry 100k's from Brisbane, but gain an impressive 4kg each in weight, thanks to our stops at Caloundra, Kennilworth, Reesville, and The Town of 1770, we motored on, made some milage, hit the road, kicked up some dust, and spent the weekend from the 4th October with the irrepressible Grice family.
We're trying to arrange things to stay in Mackay tomorrow, and then up to Townsville soon after. If anyone knows of anyone on the long stretch from Townsville to Mount Isa let us know, because we don't, and we're going to need to.
Eerm, yeah.
Things are going well so far. The people we've met have been astonishingly generous and open hearted. It's a very humbling experience to recieve such unmittigated help and assistance.
Until we meet again.
